DBTA Special interest group on informationsystems http://dbta.ethz.ch/
yes English  DBTA was founded in 1986 as the database interest group of the Swiss Informatics Society (SI). The original goal was to promote exchange between research theory at universities and research labs, and practitioners such as application developers, database administrators and IT managers, resulting in the name DBTA as an abbreviation of Data Base Theory and Applications. Over the years, the main interests of both researchers and practitioners has expanded to address issues of large-scale distribution and integration of heterogeneous information services. Therefore nowadays DBTA interests include, not only traditional database technologies, but also topic such as web information systems, ontologies, XML data management, service-oriented architectures and information retrieval systems. To reflect this change, it was decided in 2004 that although the short name DBTA would remain, it should now be known as the sepcial interest group in information systems.
Ifip WG 8.1 https://research.idi.ntnu.no/ifip-wg81/

The International Federation for Information Processing is a multinational federation of professional and technical organisations (or national groupings of such organisations) concerned with information processing. From any one country, only one such organisation - which must be representative of the national activities in the field of information processing - can be admitted as a Full Member.

The Federation is governed by a General Assembly which meets once every year and consists of one representative from each Member organisation. The Federation is organised into the IFIP Council, the Executive Board, and the Technical Assembly. The Technical Assembly is divided into eleven Technical Committees and two Specialist Groups. These Committees and Groups are in turn Divided into Working Groups, of which IFIP WG 8.1 is one (under Technical Committee 8).

CIAO!
http://ciaonetwork.org/mailman/listinfo/members_ciaonetwork.org yes English

CIAO! is an initiative whose mission is to stimulate the development of the emerging discipline of enterprise engineering, as well as its practical application in improving the societal performance of enterprises. By an enterprise is understood any kind of enterprise, like commercial, not-for-profit, governmental, etc., as well as any kind of alliance between enterprises: enterprise networks, supply chains, etc. The name CIAO! is an acronym for Cooperation, Interoperability, Architecture, and Ontology. The first two constitute the key themes of CIAO!: the cooperation within and between enterprises and the interoperability of their information systems. The second two constitute the key concepts in addressing these themes. The concepts of architecture and ontology have a specific meaning in CIAO!. Architecture is defined as the normative restriction of design freedom. It is made operational by means of principles that guide the design of systems (enterprises, information systems, etc.). Ontology is defined as the implementation independent understanding of the construction and operation of systems (enterprises, information systems, etc.).
